Rising Aussie stars to be honoured in Hollywood

Rising Australian stars Sam Worthington and Anna Torv and director Craig Gillespie will be honoured next month at a gala at the home of the first Academy Awards ceremony, Hollywood's iconic Roosevelt Hotel.
The trio have been named the recipients of the Australians in Film 2009 Breakthrough Awards.
Perth-born 32-year-old Worthington is expected to be catapulted into Hollywood's top tier of actors with starring roles in two of the biggest studio films of the year - Terminator Salvation opposite Christian Bale and Avatar, the much-anticipated sci-fi epic directed by James Cameron.
Torv, a 31-year-old from Melbourne, is the star of the new TV series Fringe.
Gillespie is the 41-year-old Sydney-born director of the 2007 Oscar-nominated comedy-drama Lars And The Real Girl.
The Breakthrough Awards, to be held on May 8, are in their fifth year.
Past recipients include Abbie Cornish, Emilie De Ravin, Isla Fisher, Greg McLean, Mia Wasikowska, Jacinda Barrett, Jesse Spencer, James Wan, Leigh Whannell, Melissa George and Robert Luketic.
